Bocce Classic XXIII

The John Pirelli Lodge #1633, Order Sons of Italy in America and the Societa Di Mutuo Soccorso Italiana, Dayton, Ohio located at 2625 County Line Rd. Kettering, Ohio 45430 have for the past 22 years organized and run the Bocce Classic. The Bocce Classic is an event that promotes our Italian culture, the game of bocce and our generosity to charitable organizations. Since 1995, this event has generated proceeds of $208,000 for the support of local charities, the Bocce Classic Scholarship, and Italian Cultural endeavors. Our website is www.bocceclassic.com and email is bocceclassic@yahoo.com.

The event during the 3rd weekend in July has brought in teams from Canada, Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Kentucky. In addition to the competition of the game of Bocce, food, beverages along with the selected charities and their booths are part of the festivities. A Food Truck Rally and a beginner bocce tournament will be held on Friday July 21st, The Garlic Fest will be back on Saturday, July 22nd. This free event on our 10 acres of tree covered grounds will host an evening concert. We are expecting approximately 5,000 people to attend this event.

Our goal is to grow our local charitable contributions while providing a fun and safe family atmosphere for the public to learn about the game of bocce and enjoy our great Italian food and beverages.
